Ireland South Coast

At the top of the tower, where the people are gathered, is where the 'Blarney Stone' is. There are conflicting stories about its origins but one is that the stone is half of the original stone called 'Jacob's Pillow' originally brought to Ireland by the prophet Jeremiah. It was known as the 'Fatal Stone' and treated in reverence by Irish Kings before being moved to Scotland and called the 'Stone of Destiny' . When MacCarthy, King of Munster, helped support Robert the Bruce defeat the English in 1314, the stone was split in two and half brought back here and inset in this castle.
